Owner Cath remembers when the whare was the only one on the street, surrounded by farmland. With rooms full of memories, changes had been made over the years to keep the house modern. The kitchen
hadn’t quite caught up, and so Lisa from Kitchens R Us was called to guide the family towards a revitalised space.

Our chat went back to the design stages, where mother and daughter negotiated layout, colours, and handles over messenger. Cath’s daughter was travelling during the renovation process, but every decision was nutted out between them regardless. Daily updates became a thing.

While initially hesitant about the 13mm stone top, they now love it since it’s installed. The warm colours match fresh neutral paintwork. And the glossy splashback with undermount LED lighting is easily a favourite feature.

Accents of Classic Walnut Melamine bring the Raw Cotton Melteca to another level of sophistication. The brushed brass Archant handles complement the overall palette and green décor pieces. Matching barstools sit comfortably under the breakfast bar. Functionality underpins the design here with a corner mondo and two on-bench pantries.

You can tell from the outset that this family enjoys good design. May their new kitchen feed them and those around them for many more years to come.
