Colours, textures, finish, substrate, how can you possibly know what is going to look & work best for your new kitchen?
Well, unless you work in the industry with years of experience it's almost impossible to know.
However, there are some simple things you can do to ensure you do buy a kitchen or laundry built in materials that are going to look good from day one and stay looking that way.
I can only talk about New Zealand board manufacturers, as that’s what I know best.
Laminex make Melteca board, Bestwood make Melamine board and Prime panels make Prime board and own Dezignatek and Arborline (vacuum wrapped door and panels).
All manufacture in New Zealand to NZ industry standards, which is important (but more on that later).
These three companies all have a large range of colours, finishes and give comprehensive warranties on their board products.
I do not think you can go wrong choosing the materials for your new kitchen from one of these three NZ manufacturers.
NZ made board is amongst the best in the world, the quality and finish is world class.
Each of these three companies have different ranges of board products and colours and we often end up combining different colours from a couple of manufacturers to get the desired look.
The trend is to combine plain colours, woodgrains, textures and dark and light and the selection is enough to satisfy even the fussiest interior design guru.
I will provide the links at the bottom of this article for you to follow through to and browse all the colours available.
But worth a mention is the new Melteca Acrylic Soft touch, imported by Laminex.
This is a soft looking matt surface that doesn’t show figure marks and is lovely to run your hands over having a unique silky finish. It comes with the normal warranties and specifications and we recommend this board type for overhead cupboard doors ,where the handless look is desired, as no matter how many times you touch the surface, finger marks don’t show!
This board can be combined with other finishes and looks amazing with Laser edge (invisible edge technology) It gives a super luxurious finish and is my favorite,
