Modern Kitchen

Celebrating 30 years of manufacturing in Mount Maunganui.

Our story began from humble origins, starting out as a joinery company know as Mr Shelf, that shifted to the current site in 29 Newton Street Mt Maunganui in 1987.
Kitchens R Us was originally known as Mr Shelf/Kitchens & Cupboards.
Under the Mr Shelf/Kitchens & Cupboards name, we built mainly storage cabinets, bookcases, modular Kitchens, laundry and wardrobe cabinetry.
Under new ownership, in 2006 the owners Deborah & Russell Reardon, invested to upgrade the factory with the introduction of sophisticated European machinery, 3D Cad software and CNC machinery complimented with Empower time tracking software, and the upgrade of all-new showroom kitchen displays.
A new name was required to more accurately represent the more sophisticated kitchen work that the company was becoming known for.
So the brand Kitchens R Us was settled upon.
The company now specializing in a variety of kitchen projects from bespoke Kitchens & Wardrobes for residential customers to large commercial projects for builders and more recently major shopfitting projects.
In recent years a decision was made to again upgrade the machinery & to future proof the manufacturing capabilities of premium kitchen products with the introduction of the latest technology in the Kitchen door and panel manufacturing, with the purchase of a Holtzer Laser edge machine imported from Germany, which completes the doors and panels with an almost invisible edge by using infrared technology.
We are excited to see what the next challenge will bring.
The owners of Kitchens R Us are committed to continually lead the field in the Kitchen design and manufacture through a continual upgrade of systems and technology, and development of our team.
We are not only known for our manufacturing excellence, and reliability but also for the warmth of the welcome we give our customers in our showrooms and our ability to see the job through without losing the personal touch.
Get in touch and let’s get cracking on your new project.
